Larissa's biography

Larissa's first degree was a Bachelor of Arts, specialising in English Literature, from the University of Otago, New Zealand, after which she spent a year abroad teaching English as a Second Language in Taiwan. She enjoyed teaching so much that she then went on to complete a Graduate Diploma in Teaching at the University of Otago, College of Education.

After graduating as a teacher in 2013, Larissa moved to London to experience a new culture and travel around Europe. Larissa was so smitten by London she has stayed here ever since! She has taught in both state and independent schools across EYFS, Key Stage One and Lower Key Stage Two. Her teaching practice has often been called nurturing, fun, engaging and effective.

Mon-Friday 5Pm-8.30PM Saturday 10am-2PM Sunday 10am-2PM *Due to a job change, there may be availability throughout the day (9am to 4PM) Monday-Friday which can be confirmed soon.

*Please note that the schools mentioned above are schools children from Larissa's class went on to, rather than her individual tutoring students. However, many of the areas of the 7+ exams were covered in class, such as reading comprehension, creative writing, grammar and spelling. For Maths, ensuring children have an in depth understanding of the curriculum and stretching and extending where necessary. In schools, Larissa has taught small groups of children to better prepare them for school entrance exams.

Owl Tutors school entrance training

Larissa has successfully completed the Owl Tutors training course in 7 Plus exam preparation. This means they have a thorough understanding of the structure, content and demands of these exams and are qualified to prepare students. Training is delivered by Holly, a highly experienced school entrance tutor and member of the Owl Tutors team.

Larissa's qualifications

Larissa qualified to teach Primary education in 2013, and holds a Graduate Diploma, Education from New Zealand Teachers' Council.
